A Village of Support for Expecting & New Parents

Confident Parenting, born in 2011, provides consultations and award-winning support for expecting parents and families struggling with sleep, potty-training, & behavior in children from birth through elementary school.

Through our Village of partner providers, born in 2019, we also connect families with exceptional resources for childbirth, breastfeeding and newborn care education, CPR classes, picky eating, babyproofing, perinatal fitness, perinatal anxiety and depression, parent coaching and more.

A Collective of Resources for Families with Special Needs

The Confident Parenting Collective, born in 2023, is a learning library and directory of resources and providers serving families in the Greater Philadelphia area from birth through young adulthood on the journey of assessing and addressing developmental delays, differences and disabilities as well as academic, social and mental health challenges. The providers we've selected are parent recommended and have little to no waitlists.

About the Founder

Welcome parents, caregivers and colleagues! I’m Erica Desper, the Founder of The Center for Confident Parenting, which was born in 2011 and has continued to develop and grow out of my own challenging entry into parenting in general and, more recently, the special needs journey and the lack of a village of support to help me navigate either.

My mission includes:

  • Supporting families to address and improve the most common stressors of daily life.
  • Helping families easily learn about and connect with the local and virtual resources available to them, as early as possible in their journey and with minimal overwhelm along the way.
  • Educating parents about development, red flags for delays, and the special education process so they can advocate effectively for their child.

When every local family has created their village and knows where to go to expand it, my mission will be complete.
